Very first time in Pakistan’s history a video trial has taken place in Lahore. Accused was sitting in a special room at Kot Lakhpat Jail and the judge sat in a room at the Sessions Court where he recorded the evidence. more

PTCL cable disconnected in lahore 400 times in 5 months.

The cutting of cables at sensitive junctions left thousands of telephones dead and caused disruptions to cellular and Internet services. One major incident occurred in April at Zafar Ali Road in Gulberg. It left senior PTCL officials in a fix as the services of a cellular phone company, Internet service providers and a number of PTCL landlines were suspended.more

PTCL launching triple-play service

The service would be introduced this year, it had so far cost around Rs 3.5 billion to the company. The triple-play service will charge PTCL customers around Rs 1,500 per month. more

Railways to build Peshawar-Karachi optical fibre network

Pak Railways have been using microwave system for last 25-30 years. Current system is quite large and nearly covers whole railway network. Since its induction, system has not been maintained properly and lost its value. In late 90’s, same system was leased by mobilink or paktel, now a new fiber network is being planed, i am not very sure how well the new system would be maintained and utilized. details

Singtel denies interest in buying Warid stake

We are hearing these rumours for last few days, heres what singtel says : “We do not comment on market rumours,” the official said when approached by Daily Times. He further said that we are not in talks with Warid Telecom, and these are only rumours” details
