The four lanes of the LRMTS have been named as Red, Green, Blue and Yellow lines. In the first phase, the government had planning laying out two lanes. The Green Lane would be laid out from Shahdra to Kot Lakhpat Bridge via Ravi Road, Data Darbar, Lower Mall, The Mall, Queens Road and Ferozepur Road near Kalma Chowk where it would go underground, pass under Model Town I and II, the Lahore General Hospital and conclude at Kahna.
